Employee Spotlight: Pasko Culic

Congratulations to Pasko Culic, who is the OS (Ordinary Seaman) aboard the m/s Paul Gauguin. He received Paul Gauguin Cruises’ Employee of the Month for February 2017.  Pasko has been commended by his supervisor for his professional attitude, safety awareness, work ethic, positivity, and willingness to help colleagues.

Q: How long have you been with the m/s Paul Gauguin

A: I joined the m/s Paul Gauguin in February 2016.

Q: How long have you worked in the cruise line industry? Any other ships?

A: I started to work on passenger ships in September 2015, and my first passenger ship was the m/v Tere Moana.

Q: Why did you decide to apply to work on the m/s Paul Gauguin?

A: I received a job offer from Paul Gauguin Cruises to work on the m/s Paul Gauguin, so I accepted it, as I wanted to see some more destinations, including French Polynesia.

Q: What is your background?

A: I used to play basketball professionally in Croatia, and after an injury, I had to stop playing and start a new career.

Q: Which island is your favorite and why?

A: My favorite island is Nuku Hiva in the Marquesas Islands because of the impressive community and nature.

Q: What is an item you never travel without?

A: I never travel without sunglasses.

Q: What is your favorite thing to do when you’re not working on board?

A: When the opportunity comes, I like exploring the French Polynesian islands and other new places, meeting local people, and understanding other cultures.
