Highlights of the 2015 Reunion Cruise Aboard the m/v Tere Moana

November 10, 2015

In 2014, Paul Gauguin Cruises offered our first Reunion Cruise aboard the m/s Paul Gauguin, with an itinerary that featured the Society Islands, Tuamotus, and two days at our private island paradise — Motu Mahana. Our guests enjoyed it so much that we planned another Reunion Cruise this year a 7-night Roundtrip Venice itinerary on the m/v Tere Moana visiting enchanting ports in Croatia and Solvenia.

On August 1, 2015, it was a red carpet affair, as guests boarded The Moana in Venice, Italy, serenaded by piano music.  President Diane Moore, Captain Rajko Zupan, and Hotel Director Nelson Trinidad warmly welcomed everyone aboard during an evening cocktail reception. Then, The Moana cast off for Split, Croatia. A spectacular sail-away ensued in the Venice lagoon, followed by “Dinner Under the Stars” on deck. Guests dined on foie gras and truffle mousse, sautéed mussels, Caesar salad, filet mignon, and seabass while taking in the breathtaking sights.

The next evening in Split, Croatia, Paul Gauguin Cruises arranged an exclusive event for guests — an a cappella concert in the City Museum, where singers performed traditional and authentic songs from the city of Trogir and the Split region.

In the morning, The Moana arrived in Dubrovnik, Croatia, described as the “pearl of the Adriatic.” An evening barbecue was held al fresco on the sun deck with Europe’s best-preserved walled city in the background. Local music was performed by a cellist as guests enjoyed lobster and steak.

The Moana departed Dubrovnik and cruised to Korcula, Croatia, the reputed birthplace of Marco Polo, on August 4, 2015. Along the way, a surprise swim stop was organized for guests. After arriving in Korcula, guests explored the town before an elegant dinner in L’Etoile. After, guests enjoyed an exclusive Moreska Sword Dance performance ashore with Champagne served by the ship’s staff.

The Moana arrived the following morning at the small Croatian island of Vis for a leisurely morning stop, then sailed early in the afternoon to Hvar, Croatia, acclaimed as one of the world’s ten most beautiful islands. That evening, a Soiree Dinner Cabaret was presented in The Moana’s Le Salon — a night of merriment for all.

En route to the Istrian peninsula town of Rovinj, Croatia, the next day, Paul Gauguin Cruises President Diane Moore, Captain Rajko Zupan, and Hotel Director Nelson Trinidad conducted a town hall. Later that evening, a special Gala Farewell Dinner was held aboard The Moana.

Friday, August 7, the ship arrived in Piran, Solvenia, one of the most charming cities on the Adriatic, before The Moana sailed back to romantic Venice — the “City of Canals” — on August 8. The voyage was a perfect blend of scenic delights and fascinating history and culture, shared with friends old and new.

Soon, Paul Gauguin Cruises will be announcing our third Reunion Cruise, which will take place in 2017 aboard The Gauguin. We look forward to welcoming returning guests and new ones on this special voyage!
