PGC Employee Spotlight: Alicia Valera - Linen Keeper on the m/s <em>Paul Gauguin</em>

Congratulations to Alicia Valera, who is the Linen Keeper aboard the m/s Paul Gauguin. She received Paul Gauguin Cruises’ Employee of the Month for July 2015.  Here is a little more about Alicia.

Q: How long have you been with the m/s Paul Gauguin
A: I have been with The Gauguin for 13 years.

Q: How long have you worked in the cruise line industry? Any other ships?
A: I have worked in the cruise line industry for 18 years. In addition to my time with The Gauguin, I spent 1.5 years working for the Greek ship MV Atalante and the TSS Albatross, which is a German cruise line.

Q: What type of training have you received?
A: I have always been trained on board the ship, from bartender to seamstress.

Q: Which island is your favorite and why?
A: Moorea is my favorite since it is nice and beautiful with green trees, plants, and a beautiful outlook from the Belvedere.

Q: What is an item you never travel without?
A: My cell phone, iPad, and laptop.

Q: What is your favorite dish served on board or Tahitian-inspired food served in the islands?
A: Poisson Cru – it is raw, fresh fish with coconut milk, cucumber, carrot, and onion all mixed together.
