Here is one sales approach I used to book Tahiti – In September, I managed to pick up 10 Paul Gauguin postcards at a trade show. They were gorgeous and featured the most beautiful image of Bora Bora. I waited until the following February, when we had a forecast for a miserable cold spell and week-long snowstorm, to mail the postcards to a few of my best clients with “this is where you can spend your next blizzard” written on them. One client called, practically in tears and just exasperated by the weather, to discuss details and pricing and by the end of the week, I had 15 passengers confirmed. This was just one of many adventures these friends have enjoyed together. I jokingly refer to them as the Sunshine Club.
